About Jim Steel

Jim was introduced to photography in the US Air Force during the Vietnam war, working on aircraft camera systems and in photo labs. After separating from service, he worked as an industrial photographer and a printer for 30 years in the graphic arts industry, 17 of those years as a vocational instructor. Jim is now retired and has lived in the Kern River Valley for 20 years.

Jim actively pursues his love of photography and has participated in numerous photo workshops. Jim uses both film and digital cameras and has a home darkroom. He has photographs in both public and private collections. Works presented here were made over the past 30 years.
